German Shepherds

Tober is 100% housetrained, reliable in the house, completely non-destructive, and LOVES her new baby girl- we recently had to move her dog bed, because she would lay on the floor next to the crib all night, instead of on her bed in our room :). We will be starting beginner obedience on May 4th, and I have high hopes for another top-of-the-class finish. After that, I’m thinking CGC, then Intermediate and advanced obed, then maybe Rally. The kennel club just started a Rally program and I think it would be fun… Anyway, things are great, and thanks again for the opportunity to take care of such an outstanding pup!

My family and I had been searching for three years until we found von Hena-C kennels online and decided to take a three hour trip to visit. We were amazed at such a fabulous kennel. The kennel is clean and up to date with modern ammenities such as radient heat for the floors! We knew right then and there, our wait was not in vain. Pam Lake has been a Godsend. Her knowledge and love for ALL her animals truly shows in the care they all receive there in New Hampshire. My daughter, husband and I returned again that year to visit and pick out a pup from the litter of Destiny & Treu.Destiny’s Treu Child A.K.A. “Dutchess” has been the finest family pet possible. We did a year of formal training and she adapted very well to commands. We also have another German Shepard who is elderly, (had a Dalmation) and 2 cats. Dutchess does well with our 2 grandchildren too!!

Hi Pam, I just wanted to give you a quick update on Toulie. I have never received so many compliments on anything in my life– since I have gotten her (when she was a mere 8.5 pounds!) I have had people continuously stop their cars to ask me about her. Now, 5 months later, she is still attracting the same attention– though now she is 55 pounds! Needless to say, she has grown up way too fast– into one of the sweetest, most loving, and energetic dogs you will ever meet. Everyone who has played with her even a little bit has declared that they want a GSD now because of her temperament and beauty. I’m attaching some photos of her so you can see her progress! Thanks again for everything. I couldn’t be happier with EVERYTHING! I’ve recommended your business to several other people who are in the market for GSDs, so hopefully they will be coming your way soon!

Hi Pam, We just wanted to pass along a heartfelt thank you and a few pictures of our new buddy, Cygnus! He settled into his new home without a hitch and has been awesome here everyday. We feel very fortunate to have found von Hena-C, and the professionalism and consideration that was shared by yourself, Don and Sue is far beyond what we could have hoped for. We fell in love with your beautiful dogs and couldn’t be happier raising a puppy from Treu and Midnight. I hope you and Treu are doing well – We look forward to coming by this Spring to see you guys and introduce you to Cygnus! Thanks again Pam for such a pleasurable experience. We’ll keep in touch.

Hi Pam, I wanted to shoot you a much overdue update on our Tera/Treu (Dec. 17th, 2006) puppy Ebin “Treu” von Hena-C; he is doing fantastic! He was housebroken by 11.5 weeks and hasn’t had an accident since. He’s obedience trained, and the only thing we’re still working on is occasional excited jumping. He’s fantastic and sometimes too clever for his own good. 🙂 We go for daily walks/hikes and he’s completely in his element running on trails off leash in the woods. He has an incredible ball drive; we are still desiring to get him into Schutzhund. Treu, Jr. is built superbly. I’ve gotten uncountable comments on him and where we found him. I’ve referred most to your website and they’ve been impressed! He’s about 24 or so inches tall and about 87 pounds, though he doesn’t look it. He’s all chest. Treu is…indescribable. He was worth every penny and we’ve had zero regrets. I wouldn’t trade him for the absolute world. He’s everything we wanted and more. Your dogs are incredible and produce amazing puppies! As slim as the chance would be, if (big) Treu doesn’t have a home after You are done using him as a stud, I would give You an absolute yes this very minute that we would take him in.

Hi Pam, This dog is an amazing dog! I have never owned a dog so loyal already at just under 4 months old. You have truly bred a breed of dog worthy of being labeled as, “The Best Family Dog” ever! I have been recommending your kennel to everyone I know who is thinking about getting a family dog. Thanks again and enjoy the pictures.

Cairn Terriers

Pam – thanks for the visit on Friday. We really enjoyed meeting Cayenne and Tutter – what great dogs. Your set up and approach to the responsibilities and effort it takes to be a responsible breeder was so very evident, it makes us feel very secure and happy to be getting one of your puppies.

I decided to get a Cairn a few years ago and I did a lot of research. I ended up finding Hena-C kennels. Pam was great from the moment I spoke with her. We ending up getting Scooter and we LOVED him so much we got Sadie 6 months later. They are the best dogs; all my friends want to come over just to see them… not me! The vet LOVES when it is time for their shots and everyone smiles when they walk in the door. They are smart (sometimes too smart)! They are healthy, they have great personalities and there is never a dull moment… ever! They are always excellent for a good laugh! My vet was impressed with the dogs I got and equally impressed with the breeder I got them from, he said “good breeders like this are hard to find”. Pam does not just sell a dog and forget about you, 2 years later she is always there no matter what questions I have, no matter when I need to leave them for vacations or no matter when I feel the need to send her cute pictures of them and I know she’ll be there for a long time (probably for the rest of their lives). These puppies were born into a loving HOME, not a kennel, they are treated like they are her puppies and I could tell just by the personalities from the day I first picked Scooter out. I LOVE these dogs; they are part of my family. I hope Pam breeds these dogs for a long time because I know there will be more in my future and I plan on getting them from her.

Hello Pam: I just love my Cairn Terrier, Taffy. She is the best dog. Taffy is smart, cute, and fun to be with. She fit right into our home, plays great with our Rottweiler, and older black lab. She is a great watch dog, and companion. Even though I live many miles away, I am considering getting another Cairn from you. Thanks for breeding such a great animal. Sincerely,

Pam’s puppies are perfect! Adopted at 8 weeks, my boy Jack is almost seven months old now. He is so smart and energetic and has a wonderful temperment. He loves people of all ages and dogs of all sizes. People are constantly complimenting his markings and the beautiful colorings of his coat. I couldn’t be happier with my pup! Thanks Pam!

Pam, I want to thank you for breeding such a wonderful Cairn our boy Prince. February 2005, Prince started to dig at my stomach at night so I had to put him back in his crate. Prince was like a possessed dog that had gone mad digging at my stomach. He would make noises like he was telling me to back off. Well, on May 13, 2005 I was told I had cancer. It took the doctor 3 visits and a biopsy to tell me I had cancer. If I listened to Prince’s nose I would have had it out in February not July of 2005. I now pay attention whenever Prince starts to sniff. I think I got checked so soon because Prince was always digging at my stomach. If it was not for Prince, I most likely would have put it off for a long time. I am so thankful for having Prince.

Lady is just so sweet too. She wags her tail all the time. I also have a sweet German Shepherd Caleb. Caleb is so sweet that if you are not careful he will wash your face. He is a nice looking dog. Caleb does not know he is a German Shepherd because he is so gentle with the two Cairns when they play. I have never regretted getting any one of these guys. In fact I do not know what I did before the 3 dogs came into our lives. In fact my 92 year old Uncle loves to watch all three play in my back yard. After getting such 3 wonderful dogs from you, I would never go anywhere else! I wish I could have more.

Hi Pam, I purchased a Cairn pup from you in 2005, I wanted to let you know that Gunther continues to be a joy in both mine and my families lives. He is by far the best dog I have ever owned. Thank you again for all the joy that you made possible. Thank you,
